About the SOPHA Scholarship
The Switzerland of Ohio Polled Hereford Association offers a college scholarship annually to an outstanding student who is pursuing a college degree. Selections are made by the SOPHA scholarship committee on a competitive basis. Awardees are announced at the annual SOPHA spring sale in May.
Criteria
Open to graduating high school seniors or students currently enrolled in college.
Applicants must:
Have a minimum of 3 years involvement with polled herefords/herefords or hereford cross cattle (showing cattle is not a requirement).
Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5.
Submit a letter of recommendation from an adult (teacher, employer, advisor, etc.).
Support the SOPHA Scholarship
Persons interested in making a donation to the scholarship fund may contact SOPHA officers. There are three donation levels: Gold, Silver, and Bronze, based on the amount of the donation. All donations are tax deductible.
